- Special Event Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Special Events Coordinator, with approval from the Fund Development Director, is responsible for developing, planning and implementing special events including the annual Night of Warm Hearts gala fundraiser and Radiothons, excluding event license requests. Maintains the event database, produces and coordinates related mailings, communications, and logistics; manages related committees, and sponsorships and develops additional fundraising events in conjunction with the development director as required. Manages contracted services for events, as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and plans fundraising projects and events.
- Coordinates the production and distribution of special event material, such as, invitations, auction donations, auction forms, corporate sponsorship packages, etc.
- Coordinates and manages the database for special events.
- Recruits and manages volunteers and committees to help plan and implement events.
- Solicits and procures sponsorships.
- Can generate individual donor acknowledgment/recognition when appropriate.
- Oversee and monitor the THAW website for accuracy and updates.
- Maintains event materials, records and files and generate related reports.
- Develops and manages timelines and budgets for all special events.
- Occasional evening or weekend activities required and some travel necessary.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Computer proficiency required in MS Office 2003 Suite.
- Internet and database management. Experience with Raisers Edge Event Module desired.
- Experience in fundraising and special event planning and execution essential.
- Demonstrated writing abilities essential.
- Must possess strong oral and presentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including volunteer management.
- Must possess an ability to set objectives and goals and achieve them while maintaining flexibility.
- Ability to set and maintain budget and manage resources.
- Excellent time management skills that enable management of multiple tasks.
- A team-oriented individual willing to assist where needed in the Fund Development department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in business or related field.
- Fund Development experience preferred
